Microscopy Laboratory

[MUSIC PLAYING] The Microscopy Lab provides high-resolution microscopy services in order to help all the research community by providing them with the instrumentation and technical expertise. What's special about microscopy here at NYU is that we have a wide variety of instruments available for analysis of samples at very different resolutions. And for example, we do the live cell-- use a live cell imaging system. We do the whole tissue, use the light sheet microscope. If you fix the tissue and cut the section, then we use a transmission electron microscope to look at the inside structure of the cell. And if you fix the sample and put it inside the microscope, use the new scanning electron microscope, we can also see the whole 3D reconstruction of the whole tissue. The unique of NYU Langone Medical Center Microscopy Lab is that we are research-driven, and we try to help each individual project, from the light microscopy and work through them all the way to electron microscopy.
