Cancer research is an area of strength at NYU Langone, with new faculty recruited every year.
- The big advantages of conducting cancer research at NYU is the fact that NYU has a National Cancer Institute designated cancer center. We call it the Perlmutter Cancer Center.
- This is an institution that's in a dramatic growth phase. Hi. I'm Ben Neel. I'm the director of the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone Medical Center. Over the last several years, we've recruited a large number of faculty in multiple disciplines that are exciting from the standpoint not just of cancer research, which is my own area, but also in all areas of modern biology.
And we're particularly interested in expanding our impact in the fields of immune oncology and also in the area of epigenetics. Because these are two areas that I think are really critical to moving from control of cancer to durable cures. And so students coming here to do research have access to a large number of cutting-edge faculty doing research over a variety of different areas using the most up-to-date, state-of-the-art techniques and investigating some of the most important problems that are relevant to modern medicine.
