    Neuroscience

The NYU Grossman School of Medicine training program in neuroscience is linked with the NYU Center for Neural Science, offering flexible academic requirements and research opportunities.

Integrated training encompasses molecular, cellular, developmental, systems, cognitive, behavioral, and computational approaches.

Students select one of two areas of specialization based on their research interests: Molecular, Cellular, and Translational (MCT) or Systems, Cognition, and Computation (SCC).

[MUSIC PLAYING] The neuroscience program at NYU has a very wide range. And we use a variety of the tools, from the molecular engineering to system and computational approaches. There are at least 100 different faculty. And they cover areas like cellular neuroscience, systems neuroscience, and also computational neuroscience. By our recruitment particularly of younger faculty, we've expanded the breadth of our research into many areas that we didn't have before. And we're able to attract really brilliant students to come to NYU and do research. The collaboration-- it happens very naturally. For one, we have the labs They are just right next to each other. There's no wall to separate us. And the people, they go two steps, and they can talk to people in the other labs. And I find the environment for science at NYU to be particularly stimulating. I would describe it as a continues rising phase. It's always more encouraging and exciting when things have been becoming better and better. [MUSIC PLAYING]
